Some Good Advice

#1 Piece of Advice:  The best advice I could give you would be to keep yourself connected to whats going on in your business. The best way to do that is by logging onto The Scentral Hub every day to check for new announcements or information that may be released there. To do this, go to www.iamgoldcanyon.com Click on "demonstrator login" and enter your username & password. When you click on "company announcements" in the center section, you can view all current & past announcements that have been released.

Business Supplies:  Need versus want is a key thing to remember as you are getting started. There are lots of fun business supplies available, but you don't want to spend more than you make. The following are things that you will NEED to run your business:

Catalogs - No matter which kit you get, you will probably want to purchase additional catalogs right away.

Receipts - You may want to purchase an additional receipts right away.

Business Cards - either print your own or have some made for you.

Re-Order Labels - These are tiny labels that you'll stick on the bottom of each candle you sell & they have your contact information on them, so when the customer needs another candle they know how to reach you. Just make sure you don't cover up the warning on the bottom of the candle label.

Tealight Opportunity Samples - This is a box of 30 tealights & boxes (you have to fold them but its easy!).  Add a business card & share them with people you meet who want to try Gold Canyon!Catalogs, receipts, host candles, customer appreciation candles, & more can be purchased directly from Gold Canyon.

Minimums:  In order to remain a consultant, you need to sell $250PV (personal volume - basically sales on items in the catalog - not supplies or host orders) each quarter (January - March, April - June, July - September, October - December). If you don't meet that $250 minimum, you will no longer be a consultant.  Any team members you had signed up will roll up to your upline and you will lose that downline forever.

You can sign up again for a $50 fee within a 6 month time period.  If you don't sign up within 6 months, you'll have to re-enroll as a new consultant, purchasing a new kit.

Don't Spend More Than You Make:  As I stated above, it is very easy to spend more than you make in a business like this. Set up a separate checking account that is just for business. Don't mix your personal & business funds. When you want to take some money out for yourself, write yourself a paycheck so you can keep an accurate record of how much money you make. If you don't have enough money in your account for business supplies that you need or for the size of paycheck you want, you'll know that you need to sell some more candles or have some more parties in order to do that. Always keep some extra money in your account to pay for business supplies & start saving at the beginning of the year so you can afford to attend the national convention in Arizona (if this is something you want to do). If you are able to attend the convention, I strongly suggest that you do so; it will be a very valuable investment (& a whole lot of fun)!

Increase Your Commission:  As a consultant with Gold Canyon, your income potential is unlimited! You have the immediate opportunity to begin earning bonus commissions based on your sales each month as well as commissions off your downline as you sponsor people into the business. As you sponsor, you will increase in leadership level & increase in the commission you make from your downline sales.

You can find detailed information about bonus commissions in the Career Plan workbook you receive with your kit.  The terminology and methods can be a bit confusing if you're new to direct sales.  Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions or just want things explained.
